it grazes my cheek

white goo that I finger wipe

and flick, scowling at the

little bugger who flies off

 

think of the massively poor

odds of bird, time and place

coalescing for the shit to hit

and wonder if this is what

it feels like winning

the lottery

 

except, of course

 

an unspeakable joy of being buried

in money with the vision of your

future erased for one much better

though also, attracting the weighty

needs of people and causes, hounding

you and your wealth

 

which might feel like

 

flocks of birds seeking you out

relieving themselves

and never missing
