Do I Have To? May 6, 2026

Remember the grind?

every day forced awake

to dress and roundtrip to

the office, then fulfil

all those other needs

before falling asleep exhausted

Did we have a choice?

kind of like ants marching

out of the nest at dawn –

at least they didn’t have

to change clothes,

earning a bit more sleep

well, we finally reached

retirement and now when faced

with things that need doing,

a new question arises

Do I have to?

and finding so many

mind-boggling options

for answers, we usually

fall for the default,

the simplest, easiest

No
