with life left outside the entrance

confessions and close ones

surround you at the rear wall

candled with kindness

eyes say their goodbyes


knowing you will never again

leave out the front door

to greet the world

in your robe and slippers


but naked out the back

through the same solid

black stone mystery

that brought

you here
