Cabled Sweater - Dec. 7, 2024

a poem can be like a poorly

cabled sweater – so bad

it’s dismissed from gift-hood

not that I have knitted anything

though I hear if enough yarn

can be pulled back out

one can needle socks or a hat

like I have made poems

from pieces of poor ones

did you know a warm head

fires more neurons than a cold one

and releases additional brain

chemicals to their neighbors which

leads to clearer thinking and insights?

so the question is

do you prefer a poem

that makes you warm or

ignites your imagination?

if you want one that does both

you’ll probably have to wait

till after Christmas
