heat pours out the vents

washer and dryer rumble

in swishes and tumbles

and the coffee gods

are exhaling in

warm fragrant breaths

 

I write this poem

wrapped in the comfort

of a down robe and ask

 

does it ever leave us

the need to be hugged?
