Direct Your own World - May 14, 2022

I know we fly

around the sun

but poetry doesn’t work

at the end of

a held string

much better to pretend

we direct our own worlds

using the light in the sky

to brighten the stages

of secret places

don’t forget

it gets to do tons

of sun sets and rises

given a free hand

with shading and color

you and I put into stories

that may turn inspirational

or maybe just become

a friend for the lonely
