Fall is Nipping - Oct, 25, 2023

Gary Hunter

morning awakens much later now

adjusts her eyes to chilly shadows

so slow to get up and stand

while the sun dips lower

as she starts to move

like the lazy end

of an old nag

that saunters

out the barn door and

passes that palomino - Fall

who seems to like nipping

Summer on the heels

to move along

and keep

moving
