If you must know my One Sadness - May 3, 2022

it is when night

arrives and not one

daylight moment

has moved me

not a single warm memory

that would linger after dinner

and spend the evening

like an old friend

no heart kneading

emotional discussion

or life exploration necessary

just a slow-burning candle

who doesn’t say a word

that flickers once in awhile

to let me know this day

won’t be found later

in a trash can

of regret
