Invitation to Munch - March 21, 2024

2pm is way too early for dinner

and a bit late for lunch   even

the invitation was specific

she called it a Munch

it wasn’t afternoon tea

sipped with things that crunch

it was a light meal with salad

and Corn muffins    the perfect Munch

kinda makes sense    like a Brunch

on the far end of breakfast

and closer to Lunch

and I’m glad she didn’t call it Linner

cuz that would make it too near Dinner

or that stupid word Dunch

that combination of Dinner/Lunch

the worst of bad sounding creations

Munch has a much better punch

so congratulations Jo Anne

for the premature dinner

or was it a late late lunch

or maybe I should shut up

and just say thank you

for my very first Munch
