if something really, really, really

wants to be near you all the time

and wags with your touch,

and if it had tears would weep each

time you left the house and throw

a party whenever you came home,

is that love?

is it love to be adored for every fault

and bad mood or are furry beings simply

that good at satisfying their needs?

all I know is, they trick our hearts

to open their arms, much wider than

we do for most things in this world
