Refrigerator Poem - June 30, 2022

I heard this idea

that what’s in the frig

says a lot about who you are

lots of leftovers say

you hold on to things

cuz you might need them

nearly ripened fruit whisper

you like to wait for the perfect

moment to do or say something

while milk is the moral modifier

coating and mixing with both

sweet and bitter pleasure and pain

which means when the spaghetti

and meatballs turn green

we know you’re a hoarder

or if the peach turns brown

you are a procrastinator

or if the milk sours

you stopped living

took a break for awhile

maybe found some brittle old gum

in a drawer and chewed

on your next move
