we all hate when our worlds

are shaken   resting problems

become airborne   swirl and

block our view   bring us to a halt

it’s only after Life

puts us down that things

settle into the corners

they came from

when It picks up and shakes someone else

our empathy rises for only a beat

or two if we’re still busy with the

tidy up and repair of ourselves

in a hurry to re-set the stage

and resume our well-worn routines

and as we get pushed farther

and farther away from those

providing Life its entertainment

most of us like to add

a prayer to be left alone

but ohhhh   have you noticed

how it always hunts down

those carrying a wish like that?
