Something Unspeakable - March 6, 2026

it doesn’t have to be a war

a world away to feel like

                             something’s closing in

                             something invisible and spreading

                             moving day and night

                             without boots on the ground

                             or weapons of any kind

                             a defenseless danger because

                             its slow attack is soundless

                             undetectable

                             creeping from home to home

as if something in our country

                             is doing something unspeakable

                             to itself

the snake is eating its tail

                             and moving towards the heart
