most folks let out

the big-eyed WOW

with their first bite

 

comparable, I suppose,

if the surprise of looking

at Niagara Falls for the

first time, was a taste

 

and one would assume

a second bite will confirm

the marvel of the first one

 

perhaps like the flavor of a

yearly bonus from work,

wonderful and entirely expected

 

with the third berry

you again expect the syrup of

heaven to spread through you

 

as if you’ve just swallowed the

feeling you get when a very

old friend arrives for a visit

 

a mulberry is like no other fruit

for its ungodly sweetness and

the astonishment it puts on faces

 

almost like winning

a hundred bucks in the lottery

from a ticket you found
