Through the Window - April 13, 2024

what is it about rain

that makes us look outside

and peer into the eyepiece

of our lives

those rivulets of uncertainty

running down the pane

that limp outlook

hanging off the trees

the large puddle that is

our state of affairs

isn’t that why the sun

is so welcomed    it lifts

the coating of gloom

draws it up

to become the ghost

of someone else’s cloud
