Undocumented - March 19, 2026

this immigrant has always

crossed porous borders and

snuck through closed ones

and still pours in

with origins unknown

it has no legal status

in any country, yet is

found in all of them,

for in this checkerboard

world of borders and

boundaries where refugees

beg with their lives for entry,

our stranger slips in easily and

starts building foundations,

supports and walls, roofs

does everything, works for nothing

Anything you need help with?

our visitor asks over the fence

can’t love be that, the one

who became the neighbor

who loves the neighbor?
