sports   obituaries and weather

that’s my curiously shallow search

of the news

 

who scored how many points

who died

what do I wear today

 

the quicker I put that down

the faster I get back to mulling

 

I’m a big muller   usually about

similarities in our obvious differences

 

my interest is to pull each of us

inside out and hold a candle to that

 

what’s to hide if our insides

look and act oddly the same

 

secrets always make headlines

have you noticed?

 

maybe that’s why I pass by

most news and head for some

early morning trivial honesty

 

before I head to the unprintable

those liquid mirrors of you and I
