an entire morning of them
the half-arc of sun to trim a tree
rake the leaves clean the fishpond
run errands head to the gym
pick up groceries medications
get money from the bank pay bills
my God
how much easier it would be
without a body
how we cater to it
when it’s our spirit that
floats free in our dreams
and would in our lives
if released from the concrete
of fleshy needy bones
then again
I think of all I’d miss
in a touchless freedom
