I Don't Like Sad Poems - July 6, 2023

I don’t mind

the broken-winged bird

bloodied and splinted

till the day it flies away

but the one

that’s uncatchable

that flaps in circles

till it’s crushed by a car

no in that poem

hope does not take flight

loop in and out of clouds

and boomerang back

never to be caught

put it in the reader’s pocket

who struts away

air under each step
