Lesson Learned - Dec. 13, 2023

I taught him how

to toast corn muffins

I watch his butter-ladened knife

smother the charred surface

and watch it disappear

solid to liquid to a mucky

unexplainable quicksand

don’t eat more than

one at a time   I tell him

or it will dull the blade

that carves excellent memories

I found out after eating

three of them

this kind of bliss

is a one-time thing
