Loosen the Bolts - Dec. 16, 2024

important decisions arrive unbidden

like forks in the road forcing you

to choose left or right up or down

yes or no without any maybe

you slow to a stop

days of a single thoroughfare

are coming to an end

two directions loom ahead

deep breaths scribble

columns of pros and cons

logic ping-pongs in your head

as judgment time approaches

ultimately though it’s a choice

between a pair of unknowns

and just to loosen the bolts

in your brain if you believe

in fate then the decision

has already been made
