I like lakes over oceans

 

lapping over crashing

walkable bottoms  shallows

and soft shores  adore mist

on large quiet mirrors

 

and moon-sized crystal balls

clear and steady in the

measureless darkness

 

I enjoy fish that nibble dangling toes

curious ones that approach

then flipturn on their bravery

 

I can slip into a lake

and have noticed oceans

like to spit me out

 

oh and the mystery

 

sunrise over a lagoon

the single call of a loon

forgetting to breathe
