The Beauty of Aging - Sept. 14, 2023

as I age

silence infests the hours

shuts the mouth

opens a quiet seeing

on the world

judgments seem to happen quickly

while reflection pauses

on the subtle life

within the appearance

the beauty of being

felt and seen with feeling

impossible to describe

to my younger self

speeding to reach goals

it’s a game of letting

what’s real hide

and taking my time

to seek in silence
