don’t get scurvy

from too much poetry

like I have before

 

with fevered headaches

damp eyes and a sour

look on my face

 

mash an orange with your teeth

taste the sunshine trickle

down your throat

 

you’ll feel instantly better

from a light you can’t see

a feeling you can’t fathom

 

an orange can be

like a poem

you don’t get

 

but really enjoyed

going down
